April Book Club

Ok real talk. Blog stuff took a huge back seat of me the past few months. I was so focused on my impending wedding and all those last minute details, I let the blog suffer. Jen has me do the planning and she never once complained when we weren't putting out any content, and honestly I think this short break was for the best. I feel inspired again and can't wait to bring you some new content on a more regularly scheduled basis. Sometimes life makes you take a step back and things kind of just work themselves out. Now back to your (late) blog post!

Even though April is halfway through, there's still time to read the book club pick this month! Jen was about to start this in March and I begged her to wait for April so I could read it for book club with her. Our pick is Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller. Hopefully you join in and meet us back here to discuss soon!

What's it about?
Sent on a mission to retrieve an ancient hidden map—the key to a legendary treasure trove—seventeen-year-old pirate captain Alosa deliberately allows herself to be captured by her enemies, giving her the perfect opportunity to search their ship.

More than a match for the ruthless pirate crew, Alosa has only one thing standing between her and the map: her captor, the unexpectedly clever and unfairly attractive first mate, Riden. But not to worry, for Alosa has a few tricks up her sleeve, and no lone pirate can stop the Daughter of the Pirate King.
